Collier County's current flood maps are the 2024 Coastal Flood Maps, effective February 8, 2024. Look up an address on the county's 2024 DFIRM map, FEMA's Map Service Center, or call the county Flood Information Hotline at (239) 252-2942. Newer preliminary maps are not yet the effective regulatory map.

What the 2024 maps changed

The 2024 Collier County Coastal Flood Map took effect on February 8, 2024, six months after FEMA's Letter of Final Determination of August 8, 2023. It reflects flood hazard changes since the previous maps of 2012 and comes from FEMA's Southwest Florida coastal study covering Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties. Some earlier Letters of Map Change were revalidated and some were superseded; the county lists them in its revalidation letter and Summary of Map Actions (Collier County).

Preliminary is not effective. Collier County says "the March 20, 2025 maps remain preliminary and should not be treated as the effective regulatory FIRM" (Collier County). Use the February 8, 2024 maps for insurance and building until the county says otherwise.

Elevation certificates in Collier County

Collier County keeps an Elevation Certificate Map showing whether a certificate is on file, and publishes a list of surveyors who can prepare a new one. A Professional Surveyor and Mapper must prepare it on the current FEMA form (Collier County). An elevation certificate is optional for NFIP insurance but can lower the premium (FEMA).
